2025 will be special
Around the world at 40
Inspiring Women to Travel Solo.
i
I’ve decided to turn this year, my 40th birthday year, into a celebration of my biggest dream: traveling around the world as a travel reporter.
This journey is not just a personal challenge; it is a mission.
My goal is not only to explore the world, but to inspire other women to do the same.
I deeply believe in the importance of responsible and sustainable tourism and in the transformative power of travel.
Throughout this year on the road, I will share the stories of the people and cultures I encounter across the many countries I visit, along with my personal experiences and lessons learned. I will highlight untouched places, ancient and modern traditions, and, most importantly, the stories of women who, like me, have chosen to face life with courage and independence. With every step of this journey, I aim to show how travel can be a powerful act of empowerment and personal growth.
The message I want to convey is clear: women can travel alone, explore the world, and have extraordinary adventures.
My name is Ilaria, and I am a passionate traveler, author, and tour guide.
Since I was a child, I have always dreamed of traveling the world as a travel reporter.
I have spent much of my life organizing trips and exploring remote and fascinating corners of the planet, leading group trips, working as a tour guide, writing, and sharing impressions, emotions, and photos on my social media channels.
I have published two books: a travel guide about the Azores Islands and a travel narrative about my solo experience in Chile and Bolivia, "Under the Sky of Atacama".
For me, traveling is not just about seeing new places: it’s a way of life, an opportunity for personal growth, and a chance to connect with different cultures."and to discover new perspectives.
To make this dream a reality, I can't do it alone.
how you can help
I need the support of my community of friends, acquaintances, and anyone who believes in the transformative power of travel.
Here’s how you can help:
Hospitality: If you know people in the countries I will be visiting, I would love to get in touch with them for accommodation, even just for one night. This would help me reduce costs and experience more authentic stays, giving me a deeper understanding of local life.
Donations: Even the smallest contribution can make a difference. Every donation brings me one step closer to my goal and helps cover travel and transportation expenses. If you’d like to help me fulfill this dream, you can use this link. This year, instead of Christmas and Birthday gifts, I would love if you could contribute to making this dream a reality.
Crowdfunding Support: I’ve launched a crowdfunding campaign to help finance the project, and any support in spreading the word would be hugely appreciated. Here’s the campaign link: https://gofund.me/67ff4c72. Sharing it on your platform could help reach an audience aligned with our shared mission.
Collaborations: If you know or work for companies or organizations that might be interested in sponsoring part of my trip through logistical support, I am open to collaborations and partnerships. I focus on responsible and sustainable travel, hiking, cycling, and outdoor activities.
Group trips: In 2025, I will be leading some group trips in Cambodia, China, Japan, Ecuador, and the Azores. Joining one of these trips will be an extraordinary way to support me and share an adventure together.
Buy my book: You can buy one or more copies of my Italian book Under the Sky of Atacama, which tells the story of one of my most significant journeys in Chile and Bolivia. Purchasing the book is a way to support me and travel with me through my words. It also makes for a wonderful gift for friends who love travel narratives. Contact me directly to receive your signed copy.
Sharing: If you are unable to contribute directly, you can still help by sharing the link to my campaign and my social media channels with your friends and contacts. The more people know about my project, the more likely it will be realized. Every share is a valuable contribution to expanding the community and inspiring other women to travel.
To thank you for your support:
a meaningful thank you
Exclusive party and photography exhibition in January 2026
At the end of this adventure, in January 2026, I will organize a special event exclusively for those who have supported me throughout this incredible journey. During the party, I will personally thank each person who has contributed to making my dream a reality.
It will be a grand event, where I will share the emotions, stories, and experiences I’ve lived along the way. The event will feature an exclusive photography exhibition showcasing unpublished shots from my journey, allowing you to visually experience the most beautiful and meaningful moments of my adventure.
It will also be an opportunity to celebrate my 40 years of life well-lived and meet other travelers and writers who will share their own wonderful stories.
Postcard from the countries I visit
Those who support me will receive a postcard from one of the countries I visit. You can even choose the country you’d like the postcard to come from, and I will send you a special greeting from that destination!
A gift
At the end of this experience, I will publish a book about my journey, and supporters will receive a signed copy with a special dedication.
A shared journey
During my world tour, I plan to create a podcast that I will share with my supporters, where I will narrate, step by step, every experience and encounter. This way, you can travel with me, discovering new lands and stories through my eyes
How the funds will be used:
The money raised will be used to cover the expenses for a one-year journey through the following countries: New Zealand, Tasmania, Australia, Laos, Taiwan, China, Japan, Madagascar, Colombia, Galápagos, Guatemala, Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico, the United States, and Canada. (During the journey, the list of countries may change depending on emergencies or unforeseen situations).
