Life As A Surfer In Porto

The Portuguese Atlantic coast is renowned as THE European paradise for surfers.

Every year, millions of surfers from all over the world flock to Portuguese beaches, equipped with their boards, ready to ride those relentless and exhilarating waves.

Destinations like Nazaré and Peniche bask in international acclaim; they host festivals, competitions, and events such as the BIG Wave. Nazarè even boasts a surfers’ museum within the fort, showcasing autographed boards and testimonials from the world’s top surfers who relish surfing in this region.

Northern Portugal, including Porto’s beaches, offers sensational experiences for surfers of all ages and skill levels.

Engaging in the sport of surfing in Porto is a way to immerse oneself in the Atlantic soul of the city.

Numerous surf schools, course offerings, and accommodations cater to lovers of ocean waves.

The choice of beaches is vast, ranging from the well-known and bustling to the remote and untamed ones.

I have my preferred surf camp just outside Porto. It’s a surf house that can accommodate up to 6 people, with three additional double bedrooms featuring private bathrooms in the garden. There’s a shared kitchen and relaxation area where guests can socialize and share their passion for surfing. A barbecue area is also available.

Located 30 km from the city of Porto, in a wild area nestled within a natural park, our surf camp not only provides an ideal environment for surfing but also offers opportunities for other outdoor activities such as yoga, trekking, cycling, and cultural visits to the cities of Aveiro and Porto. This combination allows visitors to seamlessly blend beach life with cultural exploration.

It’s the perfect solution for those who love active tourism and can’t stay idle on vacation!

Our surf camp also offers package deals that include surf lessons and accommodation, tailored to your surfing experience level (whether you’re a beginner or an expert surfer).
